================================

"What sounds does a dying universe make?" is the question I tried to answer when making this behemoth of drone and ambient noise wall. This larger-than-life-and-death piece is divided into 4 parts that each tell a different side of the same story. This release also features 4 album covers, one per track, but the overall album defaults to the 4th track's cover, so there's that.

Life as a Gift (Fields of Static Where No Life Will Ever Develop Nor Survive)

You can express the beauty of life in many ways, but the idea here was to not allow the listener to feel how great the concept of life is but how devastating the absence of life is. Understand that 99.9999999999999999999% of the Universe is entirely dead, hostile to anything alive down to the simplest monocellular organisms. The title of this track originally started with the word "Consider", but removing it felt not only more poetic but also allowed for self-reflection on the matter rather than some sort of a direct order. Only after having witnessed this omnipresent state of death can you truly appreciate how precious our tiny orb of life lodged in the middle of all this truly is.
Musically speaking, this track features the least changes of all four tracks. A broad superposition of homemade noise samples

The Escapeless Pull (Your Last Vision as the Swallower of Gods Brings You Towards the Final State of Existence)

The Swallower of Gods is a cool nickname I found for a black hole. Eventually, all matter will either be trapped inside the singularity of a black hole, or decay into radiation. Now here I tried to make the listener feel as if they were doomed to be swallowed by one. I added some elements that I thought were missing when going through a lot of ANW and HNW releases, enhancing the experience in my opinion. The ending features an almost drone-metal-ish bass that engulfs everything the track spent 30 minutes working with. The most intense moment of the album for sure.

We Flicker We Die (As the Memories of What Once Was Fade Away Forever, What Remains is Nothing But Tragically Expected Emptiness)

Third track introduces tape music elements, initally storng but slowly degrading and decaying into barely recognizable sounds, like echoes of cosmic screams on a bed of noise. Imagine for this the last radio signals sent by the last living civilisation in the entire universe. This transmission will not only never be received by anyone or anything, but it will degrade and decay just like the rest of everything that compsoes the universe. A last call to the Stars, who will forever turn a silent ear.

e∞f

The extended ending of all this, of this project but of the universe. Noise stripped bare from all its loud and complex patterns. Nothing but background radiation in an already dead universe. After all this, time fails to exist as a measuring standard since no change, no light, no gravity can ever be measured in here again.

Eternity, Infinity, Forever. e∞f

================================

Well, there you have it, my attempt at giving purpose to a purposefully brutally neutral genre. My two January 1st releases are noise centered, but i'm definitely coming back to more "conventional" stuff in early 2024. Be on the lookout for an electronic microtonal EP, an ambient collaboration with a fellow artist and more!

Cherish every meaning, and God bless.
